Water distribution networks leaks – jeopardising water quality as well as wasting energy. Even though leakage rates at 35 – 50% are quite normal in many regions, the renewal rate of these networks are notoriously pathetic, typically at well below 1%. Consequently, monitoring become essential.
We have developed a series of autonomous off-grid monitoring and communication units – the hart of these are the helix-derived single or twin rotor turbine. Beside producing power, this unit also measure flow and pressure. It can run continuous wireless communication systems and generate excess energy for additional monitoring sensors.
